Limited Autumn Palette

Hello all!

Autumn is typically a time for bright, vibrant colors. It can also be a time for limited palettes and experimenting with cooler color variations. Painting this one, I tried to think “cool”. lol

Here, I focused mostly on the sand dunes with the drying grass growing out in different directions. I like creating these long stalks of nature- they always have a fun movement about them.

Here is a close-up on location. It was very cool color-wise on location up until the very and - then the sun popped out and began its descent.
