When in Doubt, Draw Hands

Hello all!

I’ve decided to mix it up this month a little bit. Instead of focusing on just painting within this blog, I’m going shift gears towards one of my art loves- the sketchbook! So let’s just call this December Sketch Month!

Yes, I’ll show some paintings too, but I want to open up and talk a bit about some of the things that can really impact painting (and particularly plein air!!!) So the first question a lot of us ask themselves when cracking open a new blank page is, “what do I even draw?”

Have you ever had that happen??? I do all the time! My answer to myself seems to be whatever is right in front of you. It could be the most boring thing in the world, but it will help you in the long run. And you want to know what’s always right in front of you? Your hands. Boom. *Mind Explosion*

Have a colorful day!

Above are some sketches of hands from some of my sketchbooks! Hands tell a lot about a person, so it’s a really interesting subject.
